The major histocompatibility complex (MHC) plays a decisive role in the specificity of the adaptive immune system, and class I and class II MHC molecules drive the immune response through their respective antigen presentation pathways. MHC works by binding epitopes derived from foreign pathogens, endogenous cancer cell neo-epitopes, vaccines, and biologics, and in the form of MHC complexes that prime the immune system to fight pathogens or cancers or degrade biologics.
